PS Ahmed Ibrahim Backs Stronger Nairobi Collaboration

The Principal Secretary Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, today joined members of the 3rd Joint Steering Committee overseeing the implementation of the National Government–Nairobi City County Government (NCCG) Cooperation Agreement, underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration in driving Nairobi's transformation.

The meeting, convened at the Kenya Railways Headquarters in Nairobi, was chaired by the Prime Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Hon. Musalia Mudavadi. Nairobi City County Governor, H.E. Johnson Sakaja, EGH, who chairs the Implementation Committee, presented a comprehensive progress update on the Cooperation Agreement, outlining key achievements and ongoing interventions across priority sectors.

In his capacity as Chair of the Legal, Governance, Finance and Communication Sub-Committee, PS briefed the Committee on the progress made under his mandate. His presentation highlighted advancements in legal and governance frameworks, strategic communication and branding initiatives, as well as the continued strengthening of the Nairobi Metropolitan Police Unit to enhance coordination and service delivery.

The Joint Steering Committee reiterated its shared commitment to delivering a cleaner, safer, and more efficient Nairobi through strengthened cooperation between the National Government and the Nairobi City County Government. The partnership continues to prioritize improvements in water and sewerage services, road infrastructure, sanitation, and solid waste management to improve the quality of life for city residents.
