State Department Launches 13th Annual President’s Reporting Cycle on National Values and Governance
The State Department through the Directorate of National Cohesion and Values (DNCV), today brought together key stakeholders for the official launch of the 13th Annual President’s Reporting Cycle on National Values and Principles of Governance.
The reporting framework established in 2014, remains a vital tool for assessing the extent to which public institutions are embedding the National Values and Principles of Governance as outlined under Article 10 of the Constitution. Over the years, it has provided an important platform for measuring progress in promoting good governance, integrity, inclusivity, transparency and national unity across government.
In remarks delivered on his behalf by the Secretary, National Government Coordination Secretariat, Mr. Alfred Diru, PS Ahmed Ibrahim emphasized that the successful implementation of the Constitution depends on the continuous promotion and mainstreaming of National Values and Principles of Governance within public institutions.
He called upon Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to strengthen compliance with Article 10 by integrating constitutional values into their policies, programmes, and day-to-day operations. He noted that a values-driven public service is essential in accelerating socio-economic development, enhancing public trust, and building a more cohesive and prosperous nation.
The annual reporting cycle reaffirms the Government’s commitment to ensuring that constitutional values remain at the heart of governance, service delivery, and national development.
